Who is an "Honorary Looper"

Post by mcmarkaus22 »

I hear the term "Honorary Looper" used increasingly in table tennis circles
It is kind of funny but I wondered what it meant exactly

A "Honorary Looper" is someone who uses anything other than actual long pips on the backhand.
It refers to someone who uses a rubber type more in the social mode rather than in a functional mode
This primarily refers to someone who uses wide pips (ika short pips) or anti on the backhand but could also include someone who uses social slim pip listed on ITTF LARC or even someone who uses (illegally boosted ) spinny inverted rubber on their backhand
