New version of actual long pips Reach C-8 & C-801 > Pimple design seems to have changed

Just an FYI
I was looking at the specifications for the new version of Reach C-8 & C-801.
These are two of the 5 Chinese pips that are actually long pips & are also not rteated or cured pips.

The earlier version was mushroom pips. Similar to Yung 63-8A used by legendary Olympic Champion Deng Yaping , before she switched to RITC 755 .
All this was during the 38 mm ball era
63-8a is no longer on current ITTF LARC

Anyway 63-8A & older version of Reach C-8 and C-801 are harder to control because of the mushroom design
But both Reach C-8 & C-801 , being actual long pips (meaning longer than 2.05 mm & also Aspect Ratio higher than 1.1) did have good back spin reversal & back spin generation , much beter thann any social slim pips rubber (listed deceptively as long pips) on ITTF LARC .

There seems to be some new changes with the new versions of Reach C-8 & C-801

1. The pip density has been increased (pips are closer together) . This means less speed but more spin (Remember the infamous 2004 Regulation that reduced tha ITTF maximium allowed pip density from 50 pips down to 30 pips per Sq.cm)

2. The pips seem to be straight cylinderical now instead of mushroom shaped. I may be wrong on this change. But if is indeed cyliderical now, it will have more control & less deception

3. The aspect ratio , pip length & width seem to have changed as well for both C-8 & C-801

Got two Reach C801 today (red and black) and that's it, the pimples are no longer mushroom. I'll give my impressions, since these are my first real long pimples. The control is still not the best (but not bad either), since their speed is non-linear, it's like Dragon Talon on steroids. There is little spin in the ball - the speed is high, heavy spin - a very strong damping effect. Loopkill can be blocked in two bounces. Passive block has some spin reversal, but not strong. Chopblock is deadly (dampening + aspect ratio = ball with the strongest backspin right under the net). Chop is extremely heavy, even on an flat ball you can give a good spin so there is no loopkill (although why care when you can block it in two bounces, lol). In general, Reach C801 has become a more all-round rubber and in my humble opinion, this rubber are the best long pimples right now.

I thought I ordered a new version also on Ali Exprss. But the dealer sent me the olde mushroom version & refused to replace or give refund (take a reuturn)
This is a huge problem with buying from Ali Express

Magic 77 is better for pure chopping, because this rubber does not have an extreme dampening effect. As for backspin generation, I think the current C801 and Magic 77 are on par. Although I could be wrong, since it depends on whether the dampening icreases the dwell time or not(and this may be true, since Dragon Talon, despite its weak grip, allowed chopping with decent spin for a slim pips.) If so, then C801 has more backspin. The looper tortural index is definitely higher for C801 if you play it all-round, as it was intended. Although Magic 77 is capable of absorbing more energy than LARC crap, the extreme dampening effect(This is the same trampoline tension technology as Dragon Talon. It's able to dampen speed more than other slim pimples, but this technology really only works in real long pimples.) of C801 allows you to exert much more pressure on the looper close to the table. If you are thinking of using C801 for pure chopping, I think it's worth using it on a thin soft lively sponge, or on a fast base. This rubber is very slow in OX even on ALL blades, not to mention DEF and unlike pimples without tension, here the sponge will give control.

If you look at the packaging , it looks like the blue package is old mushroom pimples & the new red package is the standard cylinderical pimples.
Am I correct ?

No. Red packaging is C8 (don't buy. Since pimples are now cylindrical, there is no point in C8 anymore), blue is C801. The packaging hasn't changed at all
