Don't know about pickelball.
But table tennis will never be popular in North America.
Because it is Asian & also a commie sport
That is a double whammy

Thanks to ITTF (mostly thanks to IOC) ,
table tennis has become mostly a strictly participant oriented sport.
Because of excessive top spin oriented third ball attacks using ITTF
unapproved as well as common law illegal spein glues & boosters and
systemic extermination of all spin playing styles such as choppers with

Pickleball , to a certain extent used to be a strictly participant oriented sport but now has quickly become spectator sport as well thanks to huge fan following of players as well big name celebrities from other sports like tennis playing or endorsing pickleball

One of the biggest reasons why pickleball wins over table tennis is doubles.
Table tennis mostly focuses on singles . To some extent it is the same with tennis, squash etc
Badminton is also better for doubles but most older players especilly women are more drawn to pickleball
Badminton also has the same stigma as table tennis as an Asian sport
