Many ITTF worship forums not only censor posts exposing ITTF corruption they actually bully posters for doing so
On the other hand iocTT is an uncensored forum
But of course iocTT forum cannot allow posts that are clearly illegal.

Chemical treatment of pips out rubbers though not ITTF approved is illegal under common law.

Why ?
Such treatment, while may create some potential performamce advantages , does not cause any health risks like spein gluing & boosting as clearly expressed by ITTF Rules 2.4.7 and & Regulation 3.4.2.2.

Thus boosting & spein gluing is not only notapproved per ITTF Rules 2.4.7 and & Regulation 3.4.2.2 but also illegal uder common laws of probably all nations.

Theerfore iocTT forum cannot allow any posts promting the use of boosters & spein glues directly or indirectly

On the othe rhand though the position of this forum is that though chemical treatment of pips out rubbers may not be illgeal, to be on the safe side, this forum does not condone the use of treatment of pips out rubbers at any level such a for at home play or at non-ITTF tournaments etc

Therefore your understanding & co-operation is reqeusted in this matter

Fair & excellent question.

But the answer is NO. iocTT does not condone or promote the use of treated pips.
The at subsection title says "Please only use Super Functional Rubbers (not listed on ITTF LARC) as much as possible"
It does not say "Please only use rubbers on ITTF LATC but make sure you boost them or spein glue them to make them super functional" LOL

That sub forum is limited to ITTF de-approved & ITTF unapproved pips out rubbers ONLY. And also it doe snot promote the use of treated pips.
It only promotes ITTF de-approved & ITTF unapproved pips out rubbers.
Foe example there are rumors that some Indonesian pips are treated or treated like behavior (such as reeking of wet chemicals )
If this is true , they should not be used.
There are also some treated pips from China that are made by soaking an ITTF approved rubber in chemicals like kerosene etc or painting pips tops with chemicals. Though all this most likely are NOT illegal under common law, it is highly recommended that pips players not use them.
There are some ITTF de-approved & ITTF unapproved pips available which are NOT treated & pips players should use them.

Pips players use the argument that they use treated pips because loopers boost or spein glue.
That is wrong because two wrongs don't make it a right.


Boosting & spein gluing is BOTH ITTF unapproved & also illegal ( & potentially criminal ) under common law.
ITTF de-approved & ITTF unapproved pips out rubbers are just what it says but they are not illegal under common law.
Treated pips are not ITTF approved but they are NOT illegal under common law. (Still players should not use them)
