I wondered if amateur players should really care about actual long pips ( such as those avaiable only outide
ITTF LARC )
How much would it really help them ? Seriously
This is actually a very good point but also a loaded question
I have seen this brought up in ITTF worship forums often
For example ket us take somoen like
Rob M who posts mostly oin OOAK forum or the robotNazi (probably an ITTF mole)
Tony's Table Tennis who posts mostly in the
illegal TableTennis discussion forum called TableTennisDaily.
Players like these really do not understand the difference between the mostly useless social slim pips listed on
ITTF LARC )and actual functional long pips not listed on LARC.
You are correct in that actual long pips may not help players below about USATT rating around 1700 or so.
Because even with illegal boosting, loops from someone like a player like
Tony's Table Tennis may not have that much top spin in their loops and choppers at this level may not have to worry about it.
Also if you are new to the sport and taking up slim pips you may beed to get your feet wet using ITTF social slim pips
Actual long pips (not on
ITTF LARC ) ) starts to become more and more important as you start playing against opponents over rating of say 1900
Thanks for pointing this out
