Chickens (short pips) can fly but they cannot not even soar (impart spin or vary spin) like doves (medium pips) let alone long pips (eagles)

Yes wide pips is the backhand rubber there is for any style of play while it is theoretically the best rubber in TableTennis for forehand (if you are talented enough to play at the table block and smash style)
Wide pips (incorrectly called "out" rubber on
ITTF LARC or incorrectly called "short" pips by clueless players) can actually be the the best chopping rubber as well if also used on the forehand.
Just like wide pips is theoretically the best forehand rubber block and smash styel as well
You want to have an actual OX long pips such as Magic 77 (or at least ITTF social pips like Feint Long 2 or 3 or TSP P1 Curl or Victas P1 Curl etc) on your backhand with a frictionless type wide pips with spong on the forehand
This combination of rubbers gives the maximum spin contrast between forehand and backhand, as you get maximum backspin (or reversal) on backhand with the actual long pips but minimal (or fake) back spin on the forehand due to the wid epips being frictionless.
You can also twiddle for more variations with deception.
For a non-looping player, wide pips woth sponge and OX long pips is one of the best
smart racket designs there is due t maximum spin contrast combined with best control

Unfortunately frictionless Wide pips is not available in ITTF LARC because ITTF banned frictionless pips in 2008
Butterfly Resilon was probably the best frictionless wide pips before 2009

On the flip side, if you are close to the table blocking style player , you want to use the following :-
Forehand > High friction wide pips (with thickest sponge) such as Spinfrie
BAckhand > Frcictionless type OX pips (actual long pips such as Reach C-801 or Magic 77 or a whole host of Indonesian long pips)
