i always ask them about which is important or can make a difference, the equipment or playing style after having coaching or training, and here i get so many vary answers.
Classic case of asking the wrong question & getting th right answer (for the wrong question to start with)

It is a wrong question because table tennis is , for better or worse is the most equipment sensitive sport there is.
So if you are using the wrong equipment for your natural playing style, then you are wasting your time.
But finding your natural playing style first is the tricky part.
Because the ITTF brainwashed coaches all want you to assume that you can become a two winged looper if you develop proper technique & training
But this premise is fundamentally flawed because the human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics say something else.
Based on that 90% players do not have the same backhand as your forehand in terms of power , consistency , playing style etc.
So if you try to force yourself to be a two winged looper just because Ma Long or Fan Zhendong play that way you are most likely to fail.
So you need to start playing using a smart racket (spinverted rubber one side & OX long pips on the other side) that allows you test your skills for the all spins playing style. Not start with a dumb racket with spinverted rubber both sides You need to explore the entire spectrum of spins with maximum spin contrast built into your racket.
Then figure out what your playing style is for your backhand & forehand.
You may still turn out to be a two winged looper but based on past evidence the probability of that is only 10% but the ITTF & its coaches want you to think that it is 90%
